matcha protein balls recipe

Matcha is a type of green tea that has matcha powder ground into it. It is traditionally used in Japan and China, but matcha has become popular in the United States with many people drinking matcha lattes, matcha smoothies, and matcha iced teas.

These matcha protein balls are an easy recipe to make because they only requires six ingredients!

Why You’ll Love These Plant-Based Protein Balls

These matcha protein balls are not only delicious, but they’re also dairy-free, gluten-free, and vegan. In addition to that, they have a good amount of antioxidants from the matcha powder.

Matcha is a terrific choice when you want a little caffeine boost, as it does have caffeine, but not as much as coffee.

Equipment Needed To Make Plant-Based Protein Balls

  • Measuring Cups (3/4, 1/2, 1/4)
  • Measuring Spoons (Teaspoon, Tablespoon)
  • Blender or Food Processor
  • Baking sheet

Roll the paste into 26-28 balls, and then coat them with shredded coconut.

These tasty matcha protein balls will last in the refrigerator for up to one week.

What to Serve with Your Plant-Based Protein Balls

These matcha protein balls are great to make ahead of time and eat all week. They’re perfect all on their own, but you can also pair them with a glass of juice or our matcha smoothie.

You might want to make a quick breakast or healthy snack out of these matcha protein balls and your favorite plant-based milk (almond, soy, etc.). We like them with tea or fruit juice too.

Popular Substitutions & Additions

  • Switch out the peanut butter for date puree for a sweeter taste.
  • Add ยฝ cup of matcha powder for an even more intense matcha flavor.
  • Skip the pumpkin seeds to make these matcha protein balls nut-free.
  • Instead of matcha, use cocoa powder or spirulina for a different taste!
  • Use dark chocolate chips instead of shredded coconut if you’re a chocolate lover.

If you’re looking for a recipe that’s not only delicious but also clean-eating and healthy, these Matcha Protein Balls are perfect for you.
