Instant Pot red potatoes mashed

Jump to Recipe

If you like mashed potatoes, you’ll love these Instant Pot mashed red potatoes. They’re buttery, delicious, and when you use the Instant Pot, they’re done in no time.

This is a basic recipe, and we’re only using butter (or margarine) and salt and pepper to season our potatoes. If you want to get a little fancier, add some cream cheese and/or sour cream. This is what I usually do, and it makes the potatoes super creamy. Of course, that will add calories–if you’re counting. Garlic and chives are always a tasty addition too.

I love this quick and easy way to make mashed potatoes. Use them when you make our mini shepherd’s pot pies or instead of the sweet potatoes in our meatloaf potato muffins.

Pressure cook the potatoes, then add butter or margarine, salt, and pepper.
