If you like hash browns, you’re going to love this easy, from-scratch hash browns in the air fryer recipe. You only need a few ingredients for this basic recipe, but feel free to top your hash browns with cheese, or add in some diced onions or bell peppers along with the grated potatoes before you cook them.
I like to make hash browns in the air fryer since they’re less greasy and still nice and crispy.ย ย
Serve these up with any of your traditional breakfast foods, or add them to this breakfast charcuterie board the next time you want to serve something a little special.

Hash Browns in Air Fryer Recipe
Here’s everything you need to make hash browns in the air fryer.
After peeling the potatoes, grate them with a cheese grater.ย
Next, squeeze the excess moisture out of the potatoes with a cheesecloth or paper towels. Then, add the potatoes to a bowl, and stir in the oil, salt, and pepper.
Line the air fryer basket with parchment paper, and put in the potatoes.
Cook for about seven minutes, shaking them at about the halfway mark to make sure they cook evenly.
Serve the hash browns when they’re nice and warm out of the air fryer!

Hash Browns in Air Fryer Recipe
Ingredients
- 2 russet potatoes
- 1 TBSP vegetable or olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Peel your potatoes.
- Use a cheese grater to grate your potatoes.
- Place the grated potatoes in the middle of about four layers of paper towels, or a clean dish cloth. Bring the sides and corners together over the grated potato. Twist to remove the moisture from the potatoes.
- Add the grated potatoes to a bowl, and gently stir in the oil and salt, and pepper.
- Add the grated potatoes to your air fryer, which has been lined with parchment paper.
- Cook the hash browns at 370 degrees for seven minutes. Shake at the halfway mark.
- Remove, and enjoy with your favorite breakfast!
