Finding ways to entertain your kids night and day can become difficult now that we all are spending more time at home. Plus, since children’s schedules and environments are changing more rapidly than ever, it’s important to show them how to persevere in the face of adversity.

No one wants their kids to feel discouraged, but being challenged and experiencing failure are important to allow them to grow. Below, we’re providing three growth mindset activities for kids that will also keep them entertained. These are all terrific ideas when you’re looking for a non-screen activity.

Growth Mindset Activities for Kids — 3 Printables

In a world that is constantly changing with unpredictable challenges, how can we prepare kids to feel ready for anything? Start with the following printable activities that will help them think critically about their emotions and work through challenges.

Adults aren’t the only ones who can make New Year’s resolutions. Encouraging your children to make time-sensitive goals with an action plan can help them stay motivated to complete a project and build a growth mindset. Make sure they are using the SMART method to lay a foundation for tracking and accomplishing their goals.

Setting goals isn’t the only step required to building a growth mindset. When your child meets adversity, they need to be prepared to moderate their feelings and positively build resilience. Encouraging your child to write down their emotions is one of the most effective ways for kids to figure out how to cope with how they’re feeling. Use the Emotion Grid Exercise to help your kids identify and reflect on different times they felt various negative and positive emotions. In the same way kids practice their times tables or memorize vocabulary, simple written exercises can help them develop a growth mindset.
