Setting goals isn’t the only step required to building a growth mindset. When your child meets adversity, they need to be prepared to moderate their feelings and positively build resilience. Encouraging your child to write down their emotions is one of the most effective ways for kids to figure out how to cope with how they’re feeling. Use the Emotion Grid Exercise to help your kids identify and reflect on different times they felt various negative and positive emotions. In the same way kids practice their times tables or memorize vocabulary, simple written exercises can help them develop a growth mindset.
