People are always so excited for their vacation that they sometimes forget what to pack. They’re so busy daydreaming about lying on the hot sand and feeling the warm sun on their skin while listening to the crashing waves, their focus isn’t on what to take to the beach.
If you’re worried you might forget something important, here are some essentials to put on your list for a relaxing trip.
Journal and Pen
It can be hard to appreciate a moment until after it’s passed. A smart way to remember your beach memories is by writing them down in a journal. When you go home and are reminiscing about your good times at the beach, you can glance back at your writings to remind you of the special moments that are often forgotten.
The best way to tune out the noisy beach and the annoying family beside you? Headphones. When you’re relaxing on your beach towel or in your cabana, pop in your headphones, and enjoy your favorite music or listen to a podcast.
It cannot be stressed enough that sunscreen is a necessity, no matter how badly you want that golden tan. Not only is it incredibly painful getting burned, but even a single burn can increase your risk of getting skin cancer.
What gets wetter as it dries? A towel! This is, by far, one of the most essential items on the packing list. After a dip in the ocean, drying off before the sand sticks to you is very important. Plus, you can use your big beach towel to lie in the sun and put your feet in the warm sand.
A Good Book
Getting lost in a great book is the best feeling in the world. Now is the perfect time to hunker down on the sand or beach chair and dig in that mystery novel or love story you have always wanted to read. You have time to enjoy yourself, and reading relaxes the mind–plus it is acceptable if you doze off in the warm sun!
Your Cell Phone Charger
It seems obvious, but people are always forgetting this small, but vital item. Nobody wants to arrive at their vacation destination with a dead phone. Your phone has so many uses, and stopping to buy a new charger and then waiting for the phone to charge back up is a major inconvenience.
You do not want to be caught in the bright and blaring sun without…well, sunglasses. I like to pack a spare pair too, since they tend to get misplaced. You can pick them up anywhere. I like to buy my sunglasses at Walmart–don’t forget your Walmart coupon code.
Taking a beach vacation is definitely something to look forward to. Having a checklist and making sure you pack everything you need will help ensure your trip will go smoothly. What are your must-pack items when you head to the beach?
