I like making my own bath and body products, and today I’m sharing one of my favorites. This coconut lime mint sugar scrub is a great exfoliator thanks to the sugar, but will leave your skin soft since it contains coconut oil. You will fall in love with the fragrance too. It’s so light and refreshing!
You’ll enjoy using this yourself, and it would make such a thoughtful (and frugal) gift for birthdays, holidays, or even a great teacher gift for the end of the school year!
Coconut Lime Mint Sugar Scrub

1 ½ cups white sugar
¼ teaspoon peppermint essential oil
1 lime, zested

Directions:
- Add coconut oil and sugar to a stand-up mixer. Using the paddle attachment, mix until blended.
- Add the remaining ingredients, and continue to mix until incorporated.
- Use a rubber spatula to get all of the sugar scrub off the sides. Scoop into two eight-ounce mason jars with secure lids. (Or, use four four-ounce jars.)
- Add printable tags and ribbon, if desired for gift giving.

How many 8 ounce jars does it make?
Teresa
Approximately 2 8-oz. jars, or you can fill 4 4-oz. jars, if you prefer.
Melissa
Hi, how long does it stay usable when you give it as a gift?
Teresa
This should last 1-2 months. If you eliminate the lime zest, and use essential oils only, you can extend that to 3-6 months. Adding vitamin E oil will also help extend its shelf life.
