My family loves the beach, and we always come home with lots of shells. If you like to collect sea shells too, here’s a great way to use them. Make this pretty jewelry dish from one of your medium-size shells. It’s so easy!

All you need is a shell, like the one I’m showing, and spray paint in the color of your choice. I used metallic silver, and I think gold would look amazing too, but you can use any color! Make sure the shell is clean, lay it out on newspaper, and spray paint it on both sides. It may take several coats.

If you have a pretty shell you don’t want to cover up, you could also just use a sealer to coat both sides, and let the color show through.

You might want to attach some felt pieces on the bottom of the shell if it sits on a bathroom counter or somewhere it may get wet. I don’t think the paint will wear off, but you may not want it to sit in water over time.

If you have several of these shells in good condition, like I do, these would be cute little gifts.

Here’s another idea for using your sea shells and beach treasures.
