Help your kids learn all about this Scandanavian holiday. Don’t miss these St. Lucia Day free printables!
Here’s a set of printable activities you can use to teach your child about St. Lucia’s Day. What’s St. Lucia Day? It’s celebrated mostly in Sweden, Norway, and the Swedish-speaking areas of Finland every December 13th in honor of St. Lucia (St. Lucy).
St. Lucia’s Day is celebrated with traditional foods and songs, the selection of a “St. Lucia” who dresses up in a white gown with a red sash and a crown of lights or candles. School is let out so that everyone can enjoy the festivities.
We have some fun ways to celebrate the day with your child while they learn about the holiday. These activities are perfect for keeping kids learning and having fun over the holiday break and would be great for homeschoolers. If you’re of Scandanavian descent (or even if you’re not), maybe you’ll want to make some of the St. Lucia traditions part of your holiday celebrations.
