Make These Easy Patriotic-Themed Snacks! Red, White, and Blue Pretzel Bites

Are you looking for fun and easy patriotic-themed snacks to serve on Independence Day? Here’s a festive red, white, and blue snack recipe that will be perfect for any picnic, party, or potluck.

These sweet and salty pretzel bites would also be perfect for a super hero-themed birthday partyโ€“think Spiderman or Superman!

And, we can’t forget the Olympics. Wouldn’t these be fun to make for an Olympic celebration?

Easy Patriotic-Themed Snacks: Red, White, and Blue Pretzel Bites

This is all you need to make these fun snacks:

  • square pretzels
  • red, white, and blue candy melts — Pick them up in stores or online here — red, white, and blue. 
  • red and blue M&Ms (You might want to pick up the red, white, and blue M&M packages available around the Fourth of July in stores like Target, or order them online.)

Get the kids in on this easy-peasy recipe! 

Variations on these patriotic-themed snacks:

You can make these snacks for any occasion or celebration! Remember, you can find almost any color of M&Ms online.

Here are just a few ideas to get your started:

Valentine’s Day: Use pink, white, and red, candy melts and M&Ms.

St. Patrick’s Day: Use green, yellow, and white candy melts and M&Ms.

Easter and Spring: Use pastel colors.

Halloween: Use purple, green, and orange.

Thanksgiving: Use orange, brown, and yellow.

Christmas: Use red, white, and green.

Game-day: Use your favorite team’s colors. 

Baby showers: Use pink, white, and blue candies.

Graduation: Use your graduate’s school colors.

Patriotic-Themed Snacks: Red, White, and Blue Pretzel Bites

Ingredients

  • square pretzels
  • red white, and blue Wilton Candy Melts
  • red and blue M&Ms Available around the Fourth of July in stores like Target, or order them online.

Instructions

  • Place the pretzels on a microwave safe plate, and put a Wilton candy melt on each one.
  • Microwave for 10 seconds at a time, until each melt is soft all the way through.
  • Immediately place a different colored M&M on each melt, and set aside to harden.
  • Enjoy!
