Are your kids “Frozen” fans? If the answer is “yes,” check out the craft we have for you today. Every little Elsa or Anna in your life will love it–it’s our DIY Frozen-Inspired Elsa Wand!
These cute little wands are great accessories for playing dress-up and would be fun to play with while watching the “Frozen” movies. (You can find the movies here and here.) Creating these would also be the perfect activity for a “Frozen”-themed birthday party. (Pick up some adorable Frozen party supplies here.)
Feel free to decorate your wand with glitter and sequins however you’d like. We think they’re adorable!
Note: Depending on the age of your child, they may need a little help with tracing and cutting.
Frozen-Inspired Elsa Wand Paper Craft
Supplies:
- Colored craft / construction paper
- Popsicle / craft sticks
- Sequins
- Pencil
- Scissors
- Craft glue
- Template for snowflake and star shapes
Instructions:
Step 1: Select two different colored craft papers for this craft. We’re using these blue shades to match the “Frozen” theme. Grab any one of the selected papers and cut it into a square shape (at least four inches by four inches).
Step 2: Fold the square paper into half diagonally.
Step 3: Fold the half folded paper into even thirds.
Step 4: Use a pencil to trace the snowflake template pattern on the folded paper from the previous step.
Step 5: Keeping the pattern intact, cut off the rest of the paper from the folded paper. This will be your snowflake, so be careful to keep the pattern part intact while cutting away the rest of the paper.
Step 6: Unfold the pattern from step five. The snowflake is ready.
Step 7: Now grab the other paper selected in step one, and trace the five-point star pattern on it (using the template). Cut out the star pattern. Also, cut some (six or more) really thin paper strips from colored craft papers (as you see below).
Step 8: Attach the paper snowflake in the middle of the paper star with a little bit of glue.
Step 9: Attach the paper strips along the bottom side of the star. (Attach the strips to the back side of the star.)
Step 10: Finally, attach the star to a popsicle stick. Add some sequins to decorate the paper magic wand.
Wasn’t that easy and fun? Now have fun with your Frozen-Inspired Elsa Wand!
