Calling all LEGO fans! Barnes & Noble is hosting a FREE LEGO Halloween Build Event the weekend of October 9–11, 2026 at participating stores nationwide. If you’re looking for a fun (and free!) Halloween activity with the kids, this is a good one. Plus, everyone gets to take their creation home.
What You’ll Build
This year’s exclusive mini build features a little witch flying on her broomstick around a crescent moon with clouds and a tiny bat, all perched on top of a jack-o’-lantern base.
Who Can Participate
Barnes & Noble says the event is perfect for ages 10 and up, but LEGO enthusiasts of all ages are welcome. Some stores are even opening it up to kids as young as 5, so check with your location. And here’s the fun part: you’re invited to come dressed in your favorite Halloween costume. It’s totally optional, but it’s a great excuse to get one more wear out of this year’s costume!
How to Sign Up
This is the important part: you need to reserve a spot ahead of time, and kits are limited. Each store sets its own date and time, and finding the event on the Barnes & Noble site is a little tricky, so here’s exactly where to look:
- Go to the Barnes & Noble Stores & Events page and find your store by entering your ZIP code, city, or state.
- Click “Details & Events” under your store. This takes you to your store’s own page.
- Scroll down to the store’s events calendar. It’s not at the top of the page, so keep scrolling! Then click on the event to see the full details.
- Call or stop by the store to reserve your spot. Some locations take sign-ups through Eventbrite instead, so follow the instructions on your store’s event listing.
Free LEGO events fill up fast, and some stores are already full. If you want to go, don’t wait! Snag your spot today.
