This classic recipe for candied almonds is delicious–and simple to make! It’s an old favorite that’s always a hit around the holidays, but there’s no reason you need to wait for a special occasion.
I love almonds, and I didn’t think they could get better, but they do! These candied almonds might become your favorite way to enjoy them.
They’re deliciously sweet, and if you like salty and sweet together, add a little sea salt. These are great to serve at any get-together or holiday.
You can even gift a jar of these sweet, homemade treats. Just package them up in a small jar or cellophane bag, add a gift tag, and voilà !
They make a nice addition to your charcuterie boards or holiday cookie platters too.
To make candied almonds:
There are just a few simple steps and only a few ingredients needed in our candied almonds recipe.
First, mix brown sugar and maple syrup. Then stir in almonds (and coconut flakes, if you’d like).
The, pour the nuts and sugary mixture onto a parchment-lined baking tray.
For a sweet and savory treat, sprinkle a pinch of sea salt evenly on top of the almonds.
Bake in that sweet and savory goodness, and that’s all there’s is to it!
Candied Almonds
Ingredients
- 1 cup unsalted almonds, raw
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- 3-4 tablespoons pure maple syrup
- pinch sea salt optional
- crushed coconut flakes (unsweetened) optional
Instructions
- Heat the oven to 400 degrees, and line a small baking sheet with a silicone mat or parchment paper (wax paper will not work).
- Use a small bowl to mix together the brown sugar and maple syrup. Then stir in the almonds and optional coconut flakes. Make sure they are completely coated with the brown sugar and maple syrup.
- Pour the nuts and sugary mixture onto the covered tray, and spread out into a single layer.
- Optional, sprinkle a pinch of sea salt evenly on top of the almonds for a sweet and savory treat.
- Bake for 10 to 15 minutes or until the maple syrup and brown sugar is bubbling all over the almonds.
- Let cool completely before enjoying.
