Fall-o-ween is here, and our weather has turned cooler. The kids are in school, and we’re all transitioning back to our school-year schedules. In other words, the lazy days of summer are behind us, and we’re busy! Between classes, work, and homework, it’s can be difficult to find time together as a family.Â
One way I like to get in some extra time with my kids is to have TV night once or twice a week. We get comfy on our big sofa, and of course the snacks come out. Watching a favorite show together is a terrific way to relax after a long school or work day and makes for some great family bonding.
My kids are older, so there are lots of shows we can enjoy together. We love classic sitcoms, and there are a handful of newer shows we love too.Â
One of our favorite newer shows is Young Sheldon. We watched The Big Bang Theory, so it was only natural to start watching Young Sheldon on the Triad CW now on 5 nights a week. We liked it from the beginning–and our standards are high, TV aficionados that we are! In my area, we get back-to-back episodes of Young Sheldon every weekday from 6:00 to 7:00 pm, which is perfect for us. Head here to see when it’s on in your area.Â
There are so many reasons to watch this show. Young Sheldon takes place in the ’80s and early ’90s, so if you remember that time, you’ll enjoy all of the references. If you’re a Southerner, so many things will feel familiar. Everyone will have their favorite character from this colorful bunch too. I love Sheldon’s “Meemaw,” played by Annie Potts. She was wonderful in Designing Women and just as amazing here.
