Part of the joy of the seasons is enjoying the variety of foods that are grown and more widely available in spring, summer, fall, or winter.

For example, strawberries can be had at any grocery store at basically any time during the year. But strawberries in the prime of late spring and early summer? Theyโ€™re something else altogether!

And when it comes to autumn and winter, there are all sorts of delicate delights that are a pleasure to add to the repertoire of eating and enjoying.

Take squash, for example. You can find it basically anytime of the year. But in autumn, youโ€™re likely to find a wide range of this amazing vegetable, which means itโ€™s a great time to figure out new and inventive ways to use it.

The thing about winter squash is, you can add it to nearly every type of food, from desserts to dinners. For example, squash makes a great ingredient in delicate fall donuts, and we love this Hearty Butternut Squash Soup recipe.
