AI is here, and it’s making all kinds of tasks quicker and simpler. As you probably know, AI can generate images and can write text for almost any task.
This can make life much easier, especially if writing is a part of your job. In this article, we’ll expore how to write blog posts faster using AI.
Keep in mind, AI can assist but not replace human authors. It’s only a tool–one that can aid you in creating outlines, in writing, and in increasing efficiency. But, as helpful as this tool is, it has its limitations.
Let’s get into it!
How AI Can Help in Writing Blog Posts
One of the most advanced and most popular artificial intelligence tools for generating blog posts at the time of this writing is ChatGPT. It’s an AI model that can adapt to different writing styles and topics to create posts. That said, we don’t recommend you use it to actually write blog posts–at least not without human assistance.
One reason is because there are methods and tools like a GPT checker that can easily identify whether or not content was AI-generated, and this could work against you.
More importantly, AI doesn’t always get its facts right. ChatGPT and other AI writing tools are known to occasionally produce content that contains factual errors or misinformation. More than one publication has gotten in hot water after publishing AI-written content containing errors.
Finally, algorithms just can’t replicate the human touch. AI can generate content, but it will lack the real-life experiences, emotions, and quirks that make a blog post relatable and engaging.
All of this doesn’t mean artificial intelligence isn’t a helpful tool when used properly. Even with its shortcomings, AI can help you with many of your blogging tasks. This will ultimtaely make the writing go faster and enable you to produce more content in a shorter period of time.
How to Use AI to Write Blog Posts
As an Idea Generator
You can ask ChatGPT to suggest an idea for writing a blog post. For the best results, you’ll need to provide as much detail as possible. Let’s look at an example:
Your request: “Suggest an idea for a blog post about moisturizing hand cream. The cream is suitable for all skin types and makes skin soft and velvety.”
As a Source of Information
ChatGPT can collect information on a given topic. But remember, you shouldn’t trust artificial intelligence completely when it comes to getting the facts rightโit may provide incorrect numbers and use unreliable sources, so it’s crucial that you double check the information.
Let’s look at an example of how to use AI as an information source when writing a blog post:
Your request: “List the benefits of using hand moisturizer.”
As a Personal Assistant
AI can help you plan your blog post, rewrite a blog post using an example post for reference, change the writing style of the post, and answer requests.
ChatGPT is also very useful for creating blog post drafts. You just need to formulate your request correctly, including all the necessary details and information. Remember, you won’t publish these drafts as AI gives them to you, but they’re a starting point. Proofread and edit the text, adding your own knowledge and experience.
Artificial Intelligence for Working With Text
In recent months, we’ve seen an explosion of mind-boggling advancements in AI. It’s not just about chatbots anymore; AI is in the business of writing, understanding, and even crafting artistic masterpieces. ChatGPT may be the example you’re most familiar with, so let’s check out some more of its capabilities–ones that may help you as a blogger.
ChatGPT
ChatGPT is one of the largest and most efficient neural networks that can be used to generate texts. Here’s what it can do:
- provide examples at your request
- explain phenomena and facts, tells stories at any level of knowledge–from a child’s level to doctor of sciences
- generate semantically related and grammatically correct sentences based on the entered text or question
- answer questions and simply continue the conversation on a given topic
- understand and translate text into several languages
- create reminders, provide time management tips, or suggest solutions to problems related to tasks and work
- create responses to letters–just tell the AI network who writes the letter or from whom the letter is, what the purpose is, and give the main points that should be listed
- rewrite texts, preserving the meaning and main idea but presenting it in a new form or style
Cons of AI
So, although there are many tasks AI can help us perform, there are pitfalls to watch out for. Here are some of the downsides to relying too much on artificial intelligence:
- The bot is polite. This can hardly be called a minus, but due to this limitation, it refuses to process some requests or performs the task in its own way (maybe not giving the answer you’re looking for).
- Offensive and discriminatory requests can result in an account ban.
- Among the shortcomings that stand out over time is that AI, in the course of communicating with people as part of its development, has significantly worsened when it comes to giving correct answers. But, developers are working to fix this with each new update.
What Google Says About AI-generated Content
So what does Google have to say about artificial intelligence and its use in blogging? In 2023, Google published a post on its official blog stating that content created by AI solely for promotion in search results is considered spam. On the other hand, Google’s guidelines tell us it’s important for the search engine that a site’s pages comply with the E-E-A-T concept, and it doesn’t matter much how content is created if it complies with this recommendation.
What can we gather from those seemingly contradictory statements? It’s likely that the use of artificial intelligence does not give content any special advantages or disadvantages. If the information is useful, unique, and E-E-A-T compliant, it can rank high in search results. If it doesn’t meet that standard, then it won’t rank well, no matter how it’s produced.
Google is not against the use of AI as an auxiliary tool but does not approve of creating content with minimal human intervention.
How to Use AI Without Being Sanctioned by Search Engines
If you decide to use automatically generated content, here are some tips:
- Use different sources for texts.
If you are generating text, do not use only one source. Content compiled from parts of several other texts is more original.
- Then, do your own rewrite.
When creating lists, redo the structure, and change the style of narration to make reading more convenient and interesting.
- Then, add a text summary and FAQ section.
A good practice is to write a short summary of your article, and add a block with popular questions and answers. This will be unique content that will increase the volume of the text and attract the attention of readers.
In short, you should always rewrite AI-generated text. To set it apart further, add a summary, and change the format. And remember, it’s imperative to fact check and proofread AI content.
To sum up, artificial intelligence can help you write blog posts faster, saving both time and effort. However, it is only a tool, and should never take the place of your unique voice!
