Mark your calendars, friends! Prime Big Deal Days is Tuesday, October 6 and Wednesday, October 7, 2026. This is Amazon’s big fall sale, and it’s the one I use to knock out a chunk of holiday gift shopping early, stock up on household basics, and grab Halloween and fall decor before it sells out.
The catch? Most of the best deals are for Prime members only. If you’re not a member yet, don’t pay full price just to shop a two-day sale. There are some really good ways to get in for free or at half price, and I’ve rounded them up below.
When Is Prime Big Deal Days?
- Dates: Tuesday, October 6 through Wednesday, October 7, 2026
- Start time: 12:01 a.m. Pacific (3:01 a.m. Eastern) on October 6
- End time: 11:59 p.m. Pacific on October 7
- How long: 48 hours of deals across more than 35 categories
- Who can shop: Prime members (including free trial members!)
Amazon is also dropping new “Today’s Big Deals” three times a day during the event: midnight, 8 a.m., and 1 p.m. Pacific. For those of us on the East Coast, that’s 3 a.m., 11 a.m., and 4 p.m. Eastern. Supplies on those are limited, so if something on your list shows up, don’t wait too long.
Prime Deals Happen Twice a Year
If you missed the summer sale, this is your second chance. Since 2022, Amazon has held two big Prime-exclusive sales every year:
- Prime Day in the summer. This year it ran four days, June 23 to 26, 2026.
- Prime Big Deal Days in the fall, usually in October.
Because the fall event lands right before the holidays, it’s a great time to get a head start on gifts, especially toys, electronics, and Amazon devices, which tend to see some of the deepest discounts.
Not a Prime Member? Start a Free Trial
This is the easiest option. New members can get a free 30-day Prime trial, and trial members get full access to Prime Big Deal Days deals, plus free shipping, Prime Video, and all the other perks.
If you sign up now, your trial will cover both days of the sale. Just set a reminder on your phone to cancel before the trial ends if you don’t want to keep it. After the trial, Prime is $14.99 a month or $139 a year.

Get Prime for Half Price with EBT or Government Assistance
This one doesn’t get talked about enough. Prime Access is a discounted membership that gives you every single Prime benefit for just $6.99 a month. That’s more than 50% off the regular monthly price.
- Who qualifies: People enrolled in qualifying government assistance programs (like SNAP/EBT or Medicaid), or households that qualify through income verification
- What you get: The exact same benefits as a full-price Prime membership, including Prime Big Deal Days access
- Bonus: Prime Access also starts with a free 30-day trial
- Good to know: Prime Access is billed monthly only, and you can’t pay the membership fee itself with EBT benefits

Ages 18 to 24 or a College Student? Get 6 Months Free
Moms, share this one with your college kids and young adults! Prime for Young Adults gives eligible members a 6-month free trial, then Prime at half price: $7.49 a month or $69 a year.
- Who qualifies: Anyone ages 18 to 24 (student or not), plus students enrolled at a two- or four-year college
- How to verify: Young adults share a driver’s license, passport, or ID card. College students can sign up with a .edu email address.
- Extra perk: Eligible members earn cash back on select categories like beauty, apparel, and electronics
- Good to know: The discounted price lasts until age 25, and these benefits can’t be shared with another account

My Tips for Saving Big on Prime Big Deal Days
- Make your list now. Decide what you actually need and what price you’re willing to pay. A big “percent off” badge doesn’t always mean a great deal.
- Check price history. Amazon shows price history on many product pages, so you can see if a “deal” is really a deal.
- Shop early deals. Some Prime Big Deal Days discounts are already live, so you don’t have to wait until October 6 for everything.
- Double-check the seller. Before you buy, confirm the final price, the seller, and whether a coupon needs to be clipped.
- Set a trial reminder. If you’re using a free trial just for the sale, put a cancel reminder on your calendar so you’re not surprised by a charge.
Whether you grab the free trial, save with Prime Access, or send your college kid the 6-month offer, there’s no reason to pay full price just to shop two days of deals. Happy saving!
