We know that LED bulbs save money over time, but they can be expensive initially.
Since I’ve now received my limit of free bulbs, I can’t receive more, but I can shop for bulbs on their site at heavily discounted prices–the lowest priced bulbs start at just 99¢! (The prices beat what I’ve seen in the hardware stores by far.)
Many gas and electric companies have programs that offer free energy conservation kits and light bulbs. Check online or make a phone call to find out if yours is one of them.
Here is a list of the programs we’ve found that offer free LED light bulbs and other energy-saving products–
North Carolina, South Carolina, Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, and Florida, Duke Energy customers: https://www.duke-energy.com/home/products/free-leds
Indiana and Michigan, Indiana Michigan Power customers: https://www.electricideas.com/home/online-energy-checkup/
Virginia, Columbia Gas of Virginia: https://www.columbiagasva.com/energy-efficiency/for-your-home/home-savings-evaluation
Illinois, Nicor Gas customers: https://nicorgasrebates.com/your-home/home-free-products
Oregon, Energy Trust of Oregon: https://www.energytrust.org/incentives/energy-saver-kits/
If you have a link to your local power company’s free LED bulb program or free energy conservation kit program, please share it in a comment below. I’ll add it to this post.
