Parents, Saturday, May 3rd is Free Comic Book Day!
The first Saturday in May every year, participating comic book shops across North America and around the world give away comic books absolutely FREE to anyone who comes into their stores.
I always take my youngest son, and he walks away with a big bag of comics–free, of course. There are other activities at the store too. One year at the store we visited, there was a comic book artist we could watch while he worked, and he signed autographs.
This is such a great freebie, and comics are a great way to encourage kids to read.
