This carrot garland is not only simple and fun to make but also super adorable! It’s the perfect project to do with the kids and will add a sweet homemade charm to your Easter decor.
With Easter just around the corner, it’s time to start sprucing up our spaces with some festive decor, don’t you think? This adorable project is a wonderful way to add a touch of spring to your home after what feels like a long and dreary winter.
Let’s jump right into the step-by-step guide to creating your very own Easter carrot garland!
How to Make Your Own Carrot Garland
To begin, gather your materials. Here’s everything you need to create your garland.
- Orange construction paper
- Green crepe paper
- Scissors
- Yarn
- Clear tape
To start, cut a rectangle shape from the orange construction paper. This will become your first “carrot.” You can make the carrots any size you like.
Next, fold the rectangle accordion-style, the long way, as you see in the photo above.
Now, fold your accordion-folded paper in half, as shown above.
Using clear tape, attach the ends of the paper together. This becomes your “carrot!” Make as many of these paper carrots as you’d like.
Next, create your carrots’ “leaves” by cutting out (or carefully tearing) rectangular pieces of the green crepe paper.
Tape your green carrot leaves onto the top of your carrots.
Now, you’ll attach a short piece of yarn to the back of each carrot. You can alternate long and short lengths, or make them all the same–it’s up to you!
Finally, cut a long piece of yarn (the length you want your garland to be), and tie on all the carrots to finish your garland.
And there you have it–your colorful carrot garland!
