Monday, September 29th is National Coffee Day! To celebrate, lots of your favorite coffee shops are giving away free coffee or offering discounts. Let’s take a look at the deals!

Tuesday, September 29, 2026 is National Coffee Day! Coffee shops, doughnut chains, convenience stores and even a few burger joints are pouring out free cups and cheap refills to celebrate. We’ve sorted this year’s deals by how easy they are to grab, so you can plan your coffee run in about two minutes.

Offers are valid Tuesday, September 29 unless noted, at participating locations. Many chains let franchise locations opt out, so check your app before you head out.

Before You Go: 3 Quick Tips

Download the apps first. Almost every big National Coffee Day freebie this year is tied to a rewards program. Signing up at the register with a line behind you is no fun, and some offers only load for existing members.

Stack across chains, not within them. Most deals are limited to one per member. You can still grab a free Tim Hortons in the morning and a free Sheetz cup on your afternoon errand run.

Read the size and drink fine print. “Free coffee” usually means regular brewed or iced coffee. Cold brew, espresso drinks and flavor add-ons are often excluded.

Free Coffee, No Purchase Needed

Tim Hortons – Tims Rewards members get a free hot or iced coffee in any size, no purchase necessary. Flavors like vanilla, mocha and caramel are included. Activate the offer in the Tim Hortons app.

Whataburger – Rewards members get a free 16-ounce hot or iced coffee, no purchase necessary. It’s a digital-only deal, so claim it in the Whataburger app or online.

Pilot – All customers can get a free hot coffee in any size at Pilot, Flying J and One9 locations. Redeem it through the Pilot app at checkout. This one is great for road trippers.

Casey’s – Casey’s Rewards members get a free Darn Good Coffee in any size.

Cumberland Farms – SmartRewards members get one free medium coffee: hot, iced or frozen.

Circle K – Inner Circle members get a free medium hot or iced coffee through the Circle K app. It’s a large in some northern states. Limit one.

Wawa – Heads up: Wawa hasn’t officially announced a 2026 National Coffee Day deal as of this posting. Deal trackers are reporting a free coffee for Wawa Rewards members, no purchase required, and Wawa has run a similar freebie on past National Coffee Days. Open your Wawa app on the 29th and look for a bonus reward before you head in.

Scooter’s Coffee – Get a free medium brewed coffee when you order in the Scooter’s app, September 27–29. The limit is one per guest per day, so you could claim it all three days. Early birds on the 29th also get a free sticker while supplies last.

Dunn Brothers Coffee – All guests get a free small brewed coffee or cold brew. Just download the app or ask at the counter.

Aroma Joe’s – All guests get a free 16-ounce hot or iced coffee. Cold brew and espresso drinks are excluded. AJ’s Rewards members also get an in-app reward for a free 24-ounce coffee, good September 29–October 5.

Jeff’s Bagel Run – Get a free hot or iced coffee, no purchase necessary, plus $3 off an espresso drink.

Brooklyn Water Bagel – Existing rewards members get a free 16-ounce hot coffee or 24-ounce Cubsta, no purchase required. The offer auto-loads, so you can’t sign up day-of.

Stewart’s Shops – Get a free hot, iced or cold brew coffee in any size from noon to close, no purchase necessary.

Pinkbox Doughnuts – Pinkbox Perks members get a free premium drip coffee plus 50% off one specialty coffee drink. You can join that day and redeem right away.

Voodoo Doughnut – Get a free cup of Brewed Magic Roast from 6 a.m. to noon, in store, plus a BOGO deal on Pumpkin Spice Latte Doughnuts.

Smoothie King – Healthy Rewards members get a free 12-ounce Coffee High Protein Almond Mocha smoothie on September 28–29.

Klatch Coffee – Get a free Competition Cappuccino with the promo code in the Klatch app. Klatch has California locations only.

Free Coffee With a Purchase

Krispy Kreme – Get a free small or medium hot or iced coffee with any purchase. Through September 29, you can also get a dozen of the new Original Glazed Coffee Flavored doughnuts for $5 when you buy any dozen at regular price. Use code COFFEE for app or online orders. As a North Carolina girl, I have to point out that Krispy Kreme got its start right here in Winston-Salem!

Dunkin’ – Dunkin’ Rewards members get a free medium hot or iced coffee with any purchase through the Dunkin’ app. Cold brew and hot espresso drinks are excluded. The Dunkin’ x L.L.Bean collection also drops September 29.

Caribou Coffee – Get a free medium hot coffee or cold brew when you buy any beverage. You don’t need to be a Perks member.

Sheetz – My Sheetz Rewardz members get a free self-serve hot or iced coffee in any size, including XL, with a qualifying purchase. The deal runs September 29 through October 1. Fuel, alcohol, tobacco and lottery purchases don’t count.

Einstein Bros. Bagels – Get a free iced coffee in any size and any flavor with any purchase. Mention the offer when ordering. It’s in-bakery only, and no rewards account is needed.

Paris Baguette – PB Rewards members get a free medium hot or iced coffee with any purchase.

Denny’s – Get a free coffee with a purchase of $10 or more. Cold brews and frappes are excluded.

McDonald’s – Get any size premium roast hot or iced coffee for 99 cents in the McDonald’s app, once a day through November 1. App deals can vary by account, so check yours.

Biggby Coffee – Get a 16-ounce hot or iced brewed coffee for 99 cents, or a 16-ounce Mocha Mocha Latte for $1.99.

7-Eleven – 7Rewards and Speedy Rewards members get a large coffee for $1.49 at 7-Eleven, Speedway and Stripes. That includes fall flavors like Pumpkin Cappuccino. You can add 7-Select Mini Donuts for $1.

Peet’s Coffee – For its 60th anniversary, Peet’s is rolling a medium coffee back to its 1966 price of 25 cents at participating coffeebars. More Peet’s deals are below.

RaceTrac – Get a $1 small hot coffee every day through September 30. No rewards membership is needed.

New York City: Coffee Project New York has free drip coffee and cold brew from 2 to 4 p.m. at all eight cafés. Eataly Caffès give a free Crema Caffè with any counter food purchase. illy is hosting free reserved coffee sessions at Hudson Yards, September 29–October 1.

Chicago: Beatrix has a $3 20-ounce Vanilla Oat Draft Latte, plus BOGO coffee bags online with code BCRCOFFEEDAY.

Don’t Forget International Coffee Day

International Coffee Day is Thursday, October 1. Several deals above, including Sheetz, Fresh Roasted Coffee, The Milk Pod and Aroma Joe’s, run right through it, so you’ve got a few extra days to use them.
