Here’s a recipe for pasta alfredo your family will love. Unbelievably, it takes just 20 minutes to make to make this delicious dinner!

This recipe is vegetarian, but you can add chicken or shrimp if you’d like. I prefer it just as you see it below or with a vegetable like asparagus, but broccoli is good too.

When you think you don’t have time to cook dinner, try this 20-Minute Bow Tie Pasta Alfredo.

20-Minute Bow Tie Pasta Alfredo



Yields: 8 servings, Ready in just 20 minutes

recipe for Pasta Alfredo

Ingredients:

1 (16 oz) package bow tie pasta
1 cup heavy cream
½ cup butter
½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 cup fresh parsley, chopped
1 teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
1/8 teaspoon garlic powder  

Directions:

1. Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Add pasta, and cook for 12-14 minutes or until al dente, and drain.

2. Combine heavy cream and butter in a Dutch oven or large, heavy saucepan over medium heat. Heat until butter melts, stirring occasionally; be careful not to bring mixture to a boil.

3. Stir in Parmesan cheese, parsley, salt, pepper and garlic powder. Toss with cooked pasta and serve immediately.

This Alfredo recipe is excellent with the addition of your favorite veggies (chopped asparagus or broccoli),  or with chicken or shrimp. A salad makes a great side, of course. The sauce also works well as a base for white pizza.
