In just a few short months I will be the new, first-time parent of a baby girl, yikes! There are so many things to plan for and near the top of that list is bottles.
I plan to breastfeed, but there will, of course, be times when Dad will have to help out. I wanted to find something that was non-toxic and as close the a babies natural nursing style as possible. After much research I found that we needed a bottle and nipple that would prevent “feeding-confusion”, causing a baby to basically give up on the tougher of the two– breast feeding.
I think we’ve found a great solution with Minbie. Minbie is different than a typical baby bottle nipple. Many standard nipples can release milk at just the slightest touch, maybe not a good fit for parents who plan to breast and bottle feed at the same time. Minbie’s design is geared towards helping baby to be able to “bottle feed with the instinctive feeding technique intended for breastfeeding”. This helps baby to “work” during each bottle feeding the same way they would while breastfeeding and preventing the dreaded “feeding-confusion”.
There are three stages of nipples, so as our baby gets bigger and stronger, we can adjust as needed. It’s actually an award-winning design, with even more features than I can mention here, so you should click on over to their website to check them out. All of their bottles and nipples are non-toxic and BPA-free, and they even have a really cute glass bottle option. (I’m thinking that’s one less thing I have to hand wash). And, that makes one more thing I’ve checked off of my to-do list, yay!
