Is getting fit one of your goals for the new year? If you’ve put it off because gym memberships are too expensive or driving back and forth to the gym takes too much time out of your schedule, there’s good news. You can get a great workout at home. That doesn’t mean you have to invest in expensive home gym equipment either.
So, how can you get a great workout without going to the gym? Here are a few inexpensive and effective workout ideas.
1. If you want to exercise on your own schedule, pick up some dvds, and work out whenever you’d like at home. From Jillian Michaels, to P90X, to pregnancy workouts, you’ll find something that’s right for you.
2. Do you enjoy yoga? You can often find free or low-cost yoga workouts online. All you need is your own yoga mat. You can also find any kind of yoga on DVD–another convenient way to workout at home on your schedule.
4. Short of creating an entire gym in your home, pick up a few small items to help you toward your fitness goal. I’m talking about five or ten-pound dumb bells, resistance bands, kettle bells, a jump rope, or aerobic exercise step. 5. Finally, is there a sport or activity you enjoy? Playing tennis, soccer, skiing, or biking is great exercise. Any sport or activity you enjoy can give you a great workout if you do it regularly, even if it’s just for fun. Don’t let anything keep you from your fitness goals!
